Effect of Item Parameter Drift in Mixed Format Common Items on Test Equating
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of the study was to examine common items in mixed format (e.g., multiple-choices and essay items) contain parameter drifts test equating processes performed with item non-equivalent groups design. In this study, which carried out using Monte Carlo simulation a fully crossed design, factors length (30 50), sample size (1000 3000), ratio 40%), drift (IPD) (20 30%), location tests (at beginning, randomly distributed, at end) IPD multiple-choice (low [0.2] high [1.0]) were studied. Four forms created, two do not drifts. After on first other forms, again second form. Test results compared root mean squared error (RMSE) value. As result research, items, ratio, errors found be significant.

A Review of the Effects on IRT Item Parameter Estimates with a Focus on Misbehaving Common Items in Test Equating
Many studies have investigated the topic of change or drift in item parameter estimates in the context of item response theory (IRT). Content effects, such as instructional variation and curricular emphasis, as well as context effects, such as the wording, position, or exposure of an item have been found to impact item parameter estimates. The issue becomes more critical when items with estimat...
متن کاملPractical Consequences of Item Response Theory Model Misfit in the Context of Test Equating with Mixed-Format Test Data
In item response theory (IRT) models, assessing model-data fit is an essential step in IRT calibration. While no general agreement has ever been reached on the best methods or approaches to use for detecting misfit, perhaps the more important comment based upon the research findings is that rarely does the research evaluate IRT misfit by focusing on the practical consequences of misfit. The stu...

Test Equating by Common Items and Common Subjects: Concepts and Applications. - Practical Assessment, Research & Evaluation
Since the invention of z-scores (standardized scores), comparison among different tests has been widely conducted by test developers, instructors, educational researchers, and psychometricians. Equating, calibration, and moderation are terms used to describe broad levels of possible comparison among educational assessments (Dorans, 2004; Feuer, Holland, Green, Bertenthal, & Hemphill, 1999; Linn...
